Meet the Little SLPea

Chelsea Furshman, MS, CCC-SLP

Welcome to The Little SLPea! My name is Chelsea, and I am a licensed and ASHA certified Speech-Language Pathologist. I am passionate about helping children improve their communication skills. My approach is centered on functional communication and social development, and my treatments are always individualized to meet my clients' specific needs. I am committed to providing engaging and effective therapy to help children reach their full potential.

I have extensive experience working with children birth to 21 years of age with autism spectrum disorders, apraxia of speech, articulation disorders, receptive/expressive language delays, and social/pragmatic language difficulties.

I have completed advanced trainings including: 

• PROMPT level II

• Hanen More than Words

• Talk Tools Oral Placement Techniques

• LAMP - AAC

• PODD - AAC

• PECS - AAC 

• Meaningful Speech - gestalt language processing

I earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Stevenson University-Maryland in 2010 and a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Loyola University Maryland in 2015.

As a mother to a sweet little pea myself, I've gained a newfound appreciation for child development. Watching my son grow and learn has been one of my greatest blessings.
